Session Outline: Case 1 and recap: 5 minutes Goal is to bring insight for the providers that rural communities without rapid access to stroke care will suffer a higher burden and risk for worse neurological outcomes than those with close proximity and rapid access to a comprehensive stroke center in the US. Case 2 and recap of RACECAT 5 minutes Goal is to show there are other ways beyond the hub and spoke model for stroke care in the US and that HEMS utilization based off of a RACE scale is a reasonable decision for trying to improve patient delays to interventions. Engaging local EMS community 3 minutes Goal is to encourage EMS outreach and obtain community buy in for activation of HEMS for possible LVO strokes Aviation and Dispatch 3 minutes Goal is to discuss challenges that were overcome and how our QI process lead to more rapid activation and easy cancels when utilizing near simultaneous dispatch. Follow up and Closure 4 minutes Goal is to show how following up with EMS who wants the best for their community is one of the best tools for improving the quality of RACE scale detection.
