Dr. Shaila Coffey is originally from Glenwood Iowa and is a graduate of Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services. She obtained her medical degree and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha Nebraska. She then completed her training with a fellowship at the University of Iowa in Emergency Medical Services. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Coffey has over 10 years of experience in EMS, working as a paramedic prior to becoming a physician. She is an active member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Services Physicians and American College of Emergency Physicians. Areas of interest for her are rural EMS, HEMS and prehospital point of care ultrasound.
