Matthew James brings more than 20 years of experience in EMS, fire service, and critical care transport. He began his career in 2002 at a small fire department on Cape Cod, serving as a firefighter, EMT, and eventually Captain and Training Officer before joining Boston MedFlight nearly a decade ago.

In his current role as Director of Material Management and Clinical Logistics, Matthew oversees the teams and systems that keep critical care transport running smoothly, ensuring clinicians have the equipment and resources they need to deliver care.

Originally from Cape Cod and now based in Boston, Matthew holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science (EMS Option) and multiple fire and EMS certifications. He is currently continuing his education completing a joint Bachelors and Master’s Degree program in Emergency Medical Services Management.

Passionate about advancing patient care logistics and supporting pre-hospital providers, Matthew is dedicated to building smarter, safer, and more efficient systems within the EMS community.
