Matt Philbrick, FACPE, NRP is a seasoned emergency responder with over two decades of experience in EMS and air medical operations. As Regional Director for Guardian Flight Alaska, Matt leads teams delivering life-saving care to some of the most remote and medically underserved communities in the country. His leadership spans both operational excellence and compassionate care, with a deep commitment to the wellbeing of frontline providers.
In his national role as Manager for GMR Life, Matt oversaw crisis response, psychoeducation for EMS leaders, and wellness outreach for Global Medical Response—the largest EMS provider in the U.S. He supported teams across the country through employee death responses, access to mental health resources, and resilience-building initiatives - helping to foster a culture of support in high-stress and high-reliability environments.
Matt is a nationally recognized speaker and group facilitator, known for his engaging and empathetic approach to leadership and mental health advocacy. He serves on multiple advisory councils in Oregon, including the Senior EMS Advisory Council and the Oregon EMS Advisory Board. He is also a Regent and faculty member for the AAMS Leadership Incident Fortification Team (LIFT), helping air medical leaders navigate crisis and complex responses.
A Fellow of the American College of Paramedic Executives and a recipient of the American Ambulance Association’s “Top 40 Under 40” award, Matt brings both credibility and compassion to the conversation around mental health in emergency services.
