Mr. Bottorf holds two positions within the Defense Health Agency, the nations' largest managed healthcare organization with some 38,000 licensed providers. He serves as the Healthcare Resolutions Program Director for all U.S. Military hospitals, clinics, and medical treatment centers worldwide. The program serves as the leading entity in situations where there is complex clinical cases, clinical conflict, mediation, and need for provider resiliency within the Military Health System (MHS)and the Department of Defense. Mr. Bottorf also serves directly as the lead subject matter expert and Special Assistant for Healthcare Resolutions for all military medical treatment facilities supporting warfighters and beneficiaries stationed in Europe and Africa.
Mr. Bottorf leads the implementation of the concepts of clinical disclosure and transparency which has built significant trust in the care provided within the DHA footprint assisting organizations and providers in timely, compassionate disclosure of unanticipated or adverse outcomes of care that have caused or could have caused harm to patients. The program also maintains a network of nearly one thousand trained peer support providers as a couter measure against healthcare providers from becoming secondary victims of their practice.
Bottorf is a retired retired critical care transport nurse and 911 paramedic.
