Sarah Hales graduated with her BSN from the University of Central Missouri in 2012. She currently works at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City as the Transport EMS Outreach and Education Coordinator. Sarah started her nursing experience in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, where she managed, monitored, and advocated for critically ill pediatric patients. She then transitioned to the Children’s Mercy Critical Care Transport team. One of the busiest specialty transport services in the country. Children’s Mercy Transport completes approximately 6,000 neonatal, pediatric, and maternal transports each year. She also has experience working in the Emergency Department at Children’s Mercy. Children’s Mercy provides the highest level of complex emergency care to children across the area through two emergency rooms and the region’s only Level I pediatric trauma center. She obtained her Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification in Pediatrics in 2016. Sarah has over 12 years of experience caring for the critically ill pediatric population.
