Critical Care Transport Nurse
Seattle Children's Hospital
Bellingham, Washington
Hello, My name is Tristan Frolich and I am a Critical Care Transport nurse with the Seattle Children's Transport team. My journey to nursing started after being laid-off from my first profession of Architecture in 2008, in the throws of the recession. With my future in question I surreptitiously took and EMT course and my love of medicine was born. My EMT class led to a chance encounter with flight nurses from Flight for Life Colorado and my goal was set, to one day work in the Transport environment.
After graduating from University of Washington my first nursing job was on the medical unit at Seattle Children's Hospital. I quickly transitioned from the medical unit to the PICU and CICU and was honored to become one of the first members of Seattle Children's Critical Care team when it became an independent entity. I have been a member of the team for 7 years and enjoy working on the education and orientation committees.
Outside of Seattle Children's I am a member of the Washington-1 DMAT team through the Department of Health and Human Services and have worked in an emergency role on several hurricanes. I love hiking and skiing with my wife and two daughters, and enjoying all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
