Development of Best Practice Guidelines for Pediatric Patients

This session will address the unique challenges of managing pediatric psychiatric and behavioral emergencies during transport. Dr. Jennifer Flint will introduce a behavioral health observation tool for scoring agitation severity and review evidence-based recommendations for medications, doses, and indications in pediatric patients. The discussion will also cover pre-transport risk assessment and strategies for identifying high-risk patients. Practical approaches to maintaining both patient and crew safety, including institution-specific clinical practice guidelines, will be shared.
